About Dr. David Karli
Dr. David Karli is a renowned leader in the field of Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. David Karli is an internationally known physician entrepreneur and respected author and lecturer in the field, having dedicated over twenty years of his life to perfecting life altering orthobiologic procedures for his patients. Many of his patients are long standing and travel thousands of miles to seek his care. He opened the Karli Center in March 2023 in Miami to create a focused resource, specifically devoted to advancing and delivering biological therapies, easily accessible to both national and international patients.
After attending medical school at the University of Maryland, Dr. Karli completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, he joined the faculty at Harvard, serving as an Attending Physician with the Department of PM&R at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as working in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mass General Hospital.
After Harvard, in 2003, Dr Karli was recruited by the Steadman Clinic in Vail Colorado where he adopted and later perfected the use of autologous-based cellular therapies like Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Bone Marrow Cell Concentrate (BMC), designed to improve patient outcomes. He led national efforts to refine the practice of regenerative medicine, and published pivotal clinical results while lecturing extensively on the importance of dose, response and data supported results. His practice grew substantially and includes treating elite-level and professional athletes. As a result, Dr. Karli has been featured in media publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, ESPN Magazine and Denver Magazine.
Dr. Karli recognized early in his career that understanding the composition of regenerative biologic preparations used in treating his patients would be critical to refining his practice of medicine. He also realized that a “one size fits all” approach to creating these therapeutic preparations wouldn’t meet the need for an evidence-based, precise medical approach. As a result, he founded Greyledge Technologies in 2010, a biotech company focused on optimizing production of cellular therapeutics. In support of this concept for regenerative medicine, he completed formal Laboratory Director training and obtained his MBA at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
At the Karli Center, David brings the well-known and testedᅠGreyledgeᅠapproach, with autologous cellular preparations tailored to each patient, combined with a modern, cutting edge 4400 square foot custom facility designed around providing the best possible patient experience and outcome.

At this time, the FDA has not approved any stem cell-based products for use outside of clinical trials, other than cord blood-derived blood-forming stem cells for certain blood diseases. While the FDA does not regulate the practice of medicine, it has issued written guidelines for compliance regarding the use of human cells, tissues, and cellular or tissue-based products including PRP, BMC and MFAT. Karli Center and Greyledge Technologies recognize the FDA’s important role in assuring patient safety. All of our cell product and treatment protocols are compliant with published FDA guidance documents. In addition, all patients and associated data are tracked throughout the treatment process and recovery using Greyledge’s data cloud. This allows us to continually monitor patient-based outcomes to cell therapies and add to the growing scientific evidence in orthobiologics.
