Dr. Tad DeWald

SPORTS MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

Dr. Tad DeWald is a sports and regenerative medicine physician with expertise in both traditional and minimally invasive techniques for treatment of orthopaedic conditions. He has used orthobiologics and regenerative medicine procedures, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), A2M, bone marrow or micronized lipoaspiration cellular therapy to treat patients for the last 14 years. All injections are done under ultrasound guidance to provide clinical accuracy.

He works closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other health-related disciplines in order to assist patients in their recovery process from injuries and chronic conditions, and helps them reach their ultimate goal of returning to their everyday activities or sports at their optimal potential.

After attending medical school at St. George’s University, Dr. DeWald completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Wayne State University where he served as chief resident. Subsequently, he completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute/ Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.  After fellowship, Dr. DeWald was recruited to join Tucson Orthopaedic Institute. Within their surgical group, he developed and built an elite-level  Regenerative Medicine practice where he focused on advanced techniques in cell therapeutics and tracking patient outcomes.

Dr. DeWald has been recognized for his work in the Regenerative Medicine and Sports Medicine fields. He has taught and presented at various national and international conferences including AMSSM, AAPMR, The Orthobiologic Institute (TOBI), Regenerative Medicine Training Institute and Boston BioLife.  He has personally trained hundreds of physicians on various orthobiologic techniques including lipoaspiration, bone marrow aspiration, A2M and PRP.
